PRESENTATIONS
As we've discussed, it is the last part of the course we will also work on
our class presentations. The basic idea is to give people a chance to get
up in front of the group and practice their English. Of course you can be
nervous if you'd like.
Here's a nice
general introduction to some of the most important ideas related to making
presentations. It's from McMaster University in Canada.

Now that you've
got some information about how to use PowerPoint, here are some "special
tips".

When you've finished, please
take a look at "presentation
skills self-evaluation". It's from the English Centre at the University of
Hong Kong.

CHROMOSOME STRUCTURE -
DNA, GENES,
ETC. - MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION
The American company
APPLERA-CELERA

had
a very informative presentation about DNA, genes, and the genome on its
website.
I've adopted /
adapted it for use in our class. This is a TEST; I have not obtained
permission from Celera to use it :-(
The
page I've made is set up so you can:
(1) listen to the text
(2) read it at the same time
(3) click on words you
don't know (maybe. I haven't got this to work perfectly yet. After you
read the explanation, you have to click your browser's
"Back" button to get back to where you were. Sorry))
(4) and then do some exercises to see if you've understood the
information.
Please read all the
instructions on the next page before
starting.
